Rangoli is a folk art from India in which decorative designs are made on the floor of living spaces in bright colors often for festivals. It is thought to bring good luck. The artisans of Pratabgarh call this oval thewa piece ‘rangoli’ because of these similarities. Perhaps it can also bring the wearer good luck! This ‘rangoli’ thewa pendant is a floral image in 22k gold fused to red glass and set in oxidized sterling silver with a dangling cluster of seed pearls. The oxidized silver chain is made by hand, each link soldered individually.
